Asplund (upper body) is expected to miss Friday's game against New Jersey, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.
Asplund has two goals and six points in 17 games this season. This will be his second straight game on the shelf. Kyle Okposo will draw back into the lineup Friday after recovering from a lower-body injury, while Peyton Krebs will be a healthy scratch.
