Thompson's undisclosed injury was deemed not serious by general manager Kevyn Adams, who indicated Thompson would have been a game-time call versus Columbus on Monday if the game hadn't been postponed, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Considering Thompson might have been an option versus the Jackets, he should be ready to play versus the Islanders on Dec. 27 following an extra week off. The 24-year-old center has already set personal bests in goals (10), assists (eight) and power-play points (four) in just 30 games this year and could push for the 40-point threshold.
