Thompson (undisclosed) is expected to play Wednesday versus the Devils, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Thompson can thank the extended holiday break for not forcing him to miss any extra time with the injury. The 24-year-old will center the first line Wednesday. He has three assists in his last 10 games.
