Chabot was named QMJHL playoff MVP after helping lead the Saint John Sea Dogs to a four-game sweep of Blainsville-Boisbriand and the QMJHL Championship.
To recap, Chabot has won the following awards this season: World Junior Championship MVP, QMJHL Defenseman of the Year and QMJHL playoff MVP. He will now try to add a Memorial Cup Championship to his resume. No prospect in the game has raised his stock more over this past season than Chabot. Although the Senators are playing in the Eastern Conference finals, their defense (outside of the all-world Erik Karlsson) has been a major issue at times during playoffs. The addition of Chabot should go a long way towards fixing those issues beginning with the 2017-18 season.
