Cardwell was summoned from AHL San Jose on Tuesday.
Cardwell has one goal and four assists through six AHL outings this season. Following his promotion to the Sharks, the 22-year-old forward could get a chance to make his NHL debut. San Jose hosts the Kings on Tuesday after earning a 5-4 overtime win over Utah on Monday.
