Per Max Miller of The Hockey News, Chernyshov underwent successful shoulder surgery, his agent Dan Milstein said Wednesday.
Chernyshov was selected in the second round, 33rd overall in June's Draft and promptly bought out his KHL contract. He signed an entry-level deal with the Sharks on Aug. 1 and is expected to play for OHL Saginaw this season. Chernyshov is highly talented and some pundits had him going as high as midway through the first round. There is no timetable for his return at this time.
