Sharks' Jacob Middleton: Injured on hard hit

Middleton (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Red Wings, Corey Masisak of The Athletic reports.

Middleton's head hit the glass after a hit from the Red Wings' Givani Smith late in the first period. The two players had previously fought early in the contest. The 26-year-old Middleton will likely continue to be evaluated, leaving him as day-to-day at best heading into Thursday's game versus the Sabres.
