Merkley was recalled to the Sharks' taxi squad Monday.
Merkley has logged seven games for San Jose this season in which he garnered one goal, two assists and seven hits while averaging 12:46 of ice time. The 24-year-old Calgary native will be hard-pressed to break into the lineup with any consistency, making him a relative non-factor in fantasy contests moving forward.
