The Stars placed Kiviranta (upper body) in COVID-19 protocols Monday.

Kiviranta was already on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, and it wasn't clear whether he was nearing a return. Regardless, COVID-19 protocols will likely delay his rejoining Dallas' lineup.
