Spurgeon (lower body) won't play Sunday versus the Lightning after suffering an injury Saturday against the Panthers, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Spurgeon's injury is at least serious enough to keep him out until Wednesday at the earliest. The 31-year-old was injured in the first period Saturday. Head coach Dean Evason indicated Calen Addison would be called up, but he may not be able to get to Florida in time for Sunday's 5:00 p.m. EST puck drop.
