Zucker (hernia) ended up on Minnesota's protected list, meaning he won't be an option for the Golden Knights in the expansion draft, the Star Tribune reports.

Zucker is fresh off a banner season with the Wild, as he dropped in 22 goals, 25 assists and an outstanding plus-30 rating over 79 regular-season games. He sputtered a bit in the playoffs with Minnesota eliminated from contention in the conference quarterfinals for the second straight year, but losing a point-packing forward to an expansion franchise for no return understandably wasn't in the cards for GM Chuck Fletcher.
