Kahkonen turned aside 20 shots in regulation and overtime and two of three shootout attempts in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Lightning.
The 25-year-old netminder wasn't particularly busy or sharp, but Kahkonen was at least able to earn the Wild a point. Inactivity might have been part of the problem -- this was only his fourth appearance of the season as Cam Talbot has dominated the action in the crease for Minnesota, although Kahkonen's 3.30 GAA and .870 save percentage don't make a compelling case for more action.
