Stastny was released from his professional tryout agreement by the Blues on Thursday.
Stastny has not played in North America since the 2009-10 season, split between St. Louis and AHL Manitoba. The 33-year-old spent last season with the Schwenningen Wild Wings of the DEL, where he logged 20 points in 38 contests. It is unclear what the next step for the center will be, but it at this point, he seems like a long shot to land on a NHL roster.
