  • Foligno scored his third goal in the last four games during Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Sabres. The Blue Jackets' captain now has eight points (three goals and five assists) through nine games to go along with a plus-7 rating. Foligno hasn't been able to recapture his 30-goal form from 2014-15 over the last couple of seasons, but with a secure spot in Columbus' top six and a wealth of young offensive talent surrounding him, he seems headed for another big campaign.

  • Foligno opened the scoring on the power play and added an assist in Saturday's loss to the Kings. Foligno has had a productive start to the season, racking up a pair of goals and seven points through eight games. The second-line center plays on a loaded first power-play unit and is delivering for fantasy goers after a solid 26-goal 2016-17 campaign. His steady point production makes him worth owning in most fantasy formats.

  • Foligno scored a goal and added two shots on net, two hits, a blocked shot and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Jets. His unassisted tally in the second period was his first goal of the season, but Foligno's been productive without finding the back of the net, racking up five points with a plus-7 rating through six games. He's been the one constant on the Jackets' second line through the early part of the year, and the veteran should continue seeing plenty of premium ice time moving forward.

  • Foligno will open the season at center rather than the wing, Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch reports. It's a curious move considering that Boone Jenner (back) is hurt and Josh Anderson is holding out in a contract dispute, stretching the team's depth on the flanks, but the Jackets think 2016 first-round pick Pierre-Luc Dubois will make a better adjustment to the NHL at left wing, which leaves Foligno as the other other viable option up the middle. The veteran will still have a prominent role in the offense, however, and this move shouldn't impact his production for however long it lasts.

  • Blue Jackets' Nick Foligno: Records zero shots
    By RotoWire Staff

Foligno didn't register a shot on goal against Nashville in Sunday's 5-3 preseason loss. Foligno was all over the ice Sunday, collecting 3:01 of power-play time, 3:14 on the penalty kill and 14:15 of even-strength play. With the addition of Artemi Panarin in the offseason, the captain will likely be demoted to a second-line role, centered by Brandon Dubinsky. If that's the case, expect a downtick in his production this year.
