Goligoski (illness) is slated to return against the Devils on Friday, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports. Goligoski is an important power-play option for a Coyotes team that otherwise struggles in that area. Specifically, the team ranks 22nd in the league in converting man-advantage opportunities at a rate of 17.2 percent. He's tacked on two goals and 12 assists through 34 games this season.
Goligoski will not play in Wednesdays' game against the Oilers due to illness. Fortunately, most bugs tend to pass fairly quickly, so Goligoski should have a chance to rejoin the lineup for Friday's match against the Devils. Jordan Oesterle will presumably draw into the lineup Wednesday while Goligoski rests up.
Goligoski had the primary assist on a Mario Kempe goal Tuesday, but it wasn't enough in a 3-1 loss to the Islanders. The assist is a plus, but Goligoski is at his best when he's racking up defensive categories. Don't view him as an option unless your league rewards physical presence, as he's unlikely to keep getting on the scoresheet every other game.
Goligoski failed to record a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Golden Knights on Wednesday but did lead his team with four blocked shots. The veteran blueliner had missed the last five games with a lower-body injury but returned Wednesday to face Vegas. Despite being held off the scoresheet, Goligoski led his team in blocks with four, and also saw 1:53 of power-play time. In his 12th NHL season, Goligoski, 33, has a goal and seven points in 15 games.
Goligoski (lower body) will return to action Wednesday against the Golden Knights, Dave Vest of the Coyotes' official site reports. Goligoski, who's missed the Coyotes' last five games due to a lower-body injury, is expected to skate with Kevin Connauton on Arizona's bottom pairing against Vegas. The 33-year-old blueliner has enjoyed a solid start to the season, notching one goal and seven points in 14 contests.
