  • Doughty notched a power-play assist over a whopping 31:40 of ice time Saturday, but the Kings dropped an overtime decision to the visiting Predators, 4-3. That's not a misprint on the playing-time output, as the royal club needed as much of Doughty as it could get against a Predators team trying to avoid falling into the basement of the Central Division standings. Remember, Doughty was the 2016 Norris Trophy winner and there's so much that he can do on both ends of the ice given his 26:30 of average ice time. This season, through 14 games, he's recorded three goals and seven helpers to complement a robust plus-9 rating.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Delivering in the clutch
    By RotoWire Staff

Doughty scored shorthanded for his second straight game-winning goal and added an assist Sunday against the Islanders. The good times continue to roll for Doughty, who helped the Kings extend their point streak to five games. He's operating at a point-per-game pace through five games and sporting a plus-6 rating, so fantasy goers who drafted the stud are being rewarded with a hot start. Doughty is an absolute workhorse on the Los Angeles blue line and a force in all situations, so make sure you keep him rolling.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Late goal leads team to victory
    By RotoWire Staff

Doughty scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in Saturday's win over the Sabres. Doughty logged over 25 minutes of ice time in the victory and has gotten off to a solid start in 2016-17. After three consecutive seasons of 40-plus points, fantasy owners know what they're getting with the workhorse blueliner. Both points Saturday came with the man advantage, where Doughty quarterbacks the top unit with studs like Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar up front. Keep him rolling.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Placed on protected list
    By RotoWire Staff

Doughty is being protected from the expansion draft, John Hoven of Sirius XM reports. Being the top scoring defenseman in Los Angeles (12 goals, 44 points), it's not surprising the Kings want to keep him around. He averaged a whopping 27:09 of ice time per game, dishing out 129 hits and blocking 109 shots in that time. Doughty is a true leader on the blue line as well as in the locker room, serving as an alternate captain for Anze Kopitar.

  • Kings' Drew Doughty: Scores in season finale
    By RotoWire Staff

Doughty tallied a goal, four shots and a minor penalty in 25:01 of ice time in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks on Sunday. The 27-year-old ended the season recording a goal in three of the final four games. Doughty saw a dip in production pretty much across the board, but that could be because the Kings cut back on his ice time slightly, as he averaged almost a minute less per game this season. Despite the small decreases, Doughty remains one of the steadiest fantasy defensemen in the league.
