Spurgeon drove to the net and redirected a Zach Parise pass to put the Wild ahead 5-1 just under six minutes into the third period. It was Spurgeon's fifth goal of the season, all of which have come over his last 15 games.

  • Spurgeon recorded three power-play assists and blocked four shots in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Avalanche. Spurgeon helped out on both of Kirill Kaprizov's goals as well as the first of Kevin Fiala's three tallies in the game. Over his last nine games, Spurgeon has three goals and six helpers, with seven of those nine points coming on the power play. He's beginning to round into his usual form, but his slow start to the year has him at just 15 points through 37 outings. The Alberta native has added 69 shots on net, 67 blocks and a minus-1 rating.

Spurgeon retied the game at 2-2 with his tally at 5:31 of the third period. The 31-year-old defenseman has collected three goals and two assists in his last six games, showing signs of life on offense. He's at 11 points, 67 shots on net and 59 blocked shots through 34 contests this season.

  • Spurgeon notched an assist and four hits in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks. Spurgeon had the secondary assist on a Mats Zuccarello goal late in the third period. With two goals and two helpers in last last five games, Spurgeon is beginning to get back into his scoring form. The 31-year-old defenseman started slow this year, leading to seasonal numbers of 10 points in 33 games. He's added 62 shots on net, 57 blocked shots, 36 hits and an even plus-minus rating.

  • Spurgeon scored two goals, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks. He gave the Wild leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the first period, an impressive performance considering the veteran blueliner came into the game with only one goal on the season. Spurgeon has been well off his usual scoring pace in general this year, and despite Wednesday's production, he has only nine points through 30 games.
