  • Mrazek (concussion) turned aside 23 shots in a 5-2 win over Detroit on Tuesday. Mrazek, who was sidelined for the previous six games, was sharp in his return to active duty, giving up only a pair of re-direction goals. He's now posted a .915 save percentage or better in five of his last six appearances and, if Tuesday is any indication, appears poised to once again taking over the primary goaltending duties in Carolina.

  • Mrazek (concussion) will be between the pipes for Tuesday's road clash with the Red Wings, Sara Civian of The Athletic reports. Mrazek will return to the crease for the first time following a six-game stretch on the shelf due to his concussion. Prior to getting hurt, the netminder posted a 2-2-0 record and 2.51 GAA in his last five outings. With Mrazek fully fit, he figures to see the bulk of the workload down the stretch, perhaps only watching from the bench in back-to-backs.

  • Mrazek (concussion) could be back in the lineup versus Detroit on Tuesday, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports. While nothing has been confirmed in regard to Mrazek's status, the fact that the organization sent Alex Nedeljkovic backs to the minors would seem to indicate Mrazek will at least be healthy enough to serve as the backup. Once given the all-clear, the 27-year-old figures to see the bulk of the starts down the stretch in order to help the club hold onto a spot in the playoffs.

  • Coach Rod Brind'Amour indicated Friday that he intends to have Mrazek (concussion) take part in another practice before putting him in a game but didn't completely rule out a return this weekend, Sara Civian of The Athletic reports. Assuming he does well overnight with the concussion protocol, it seems likely Mrazek will at least join the team on its upcoming three-game road trip. With a back-to-back set on tap, the staff may elect to insert Mrazek for one of the two contests, especially with James Reimer (lower body) sidelined.

  • Mrazek (concussion) still needs to clear the concussion protocol but is hoping to travel with the team for its five-game road trip, Sara Civian of The Athletic reports. Even if Mrazek does make the trip, it's not clear when he might be ready to get back into the crease. The Hurricanes' upcoming back-to-back versus the Islanders and Penguins on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, could be a good opportunity to get back into the lineup. Until Mrazek is given the all-clear, Anton Forsberg and Alex Nedeljkovic figure to continue splitting the workload.
