  • Panthers' Mark Pysyk: Pockets goal in loss
    By RotoWire Staff

Pysyk scored his second goal of the season during Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jackets. Pysyk registered four shots on goal after totaling just three in the previous five games. His goal also broke a scoreless drought of five games. The 25-year-old blueliner has just three points and a minus-7 rating this season. His fantasy value remains fairly low.

  • Panthers' Mark Pysyk: Re-ups for three years
    By RotoWire Staff

Pysyk penned a three-year contract with Florida on Thursday. Pysyk played in all 82 games for the Panthers last season while averaging 18:34 of ice time. Despite all those chances to get on the scoresheet, the blueliner tallied just four goals and 13 helpers. Unless the 25-year-old secures a spot on the power play, he's unlikely to experience much of a bump in fantasy value this coming season.

  • Pysyk scored a goal and posted four shots in 26:05 of ice time during a 3-2 loss to the Lightning on Saturday. The 25-year-old now has four goals all season, but he scored twice this weekend. In the last 17 games, Pysyk has three goals and seven points. His four scores and 14 points this season are already career highs, and his 26-plus minutes during Saturday's game were also, by far, a season high. Pysyk's playing time could continue to be higher than normal moving forward with Florida falling farther out of the playoff picture.

  • Pysyk recorded a goal, an assist, two shots and four blocked shots during Friday's loss to Minnesota. While it was a solid fantasy showing from Pysyk, it was also far from the norm. After all, the 25-year-old defenseman has just three goals and 13 points for the campaign. Additionally, his 66 shots, 78 blocked shots, eight PIM, 52 hits and minus-2 rating don't move the needle, either. It's best to leave Pysyk to cavernous seasonal settings.

  • Pysyk assisted on the game-winning goal against St. Louis on Monday. While the 25-year-old defenseman has posted respectable offensive numbers of late (one goal and four points through his past eight games), he's still nothing more than a desperation fantasy option in most settings. Pysyk is averaging just 18:49 of ice time per game and doesn't receive consistent power-play time. He's also registered just 56 shots through 57 games this season.
