  • Grant posted an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Wild. Grant earned the secondary helper on Nicolas Deslauriers' second-period tally, which also saw fellow fourth-liner Carter Rowney earn an assist. The Ducks' offense has sputtered to the tune of six goals in four contests, leaving very little room for offense early in the year. The assist was Grant's first point of the year, although he's added five blocked shots, four shots on goal and two PIM so far. The 30-year-old is also earning some power-play time, but he's yet to produce anything with the man advantage.

  • Grant signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract with the Ducks on Friday, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports. The Ducks traded Grant to the Flyers at the deadline last season, but the 30-year-old center will return to Anaheim. He piled up 14 goals and six assists over 49 games with the team last season and will likely serve in a bottom-six role once again with centers Ryan Getzlaf, Adam Henrique and Sam Steel returning to the team.

Offense isn't a huge part of Grant's game -- he has just two assists in nine playoff appearances this year. He's added nine hits and 11 shots on goal while skating in a bottom-six role.

  • Grant collected an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-1 round-robin win over the Lightning. Grant helped out on a Nicolas Aube-Kubel goal 7:40 into the first period. The 30-year-old Grant had 25 points, 94 shots on goal and 30 PIM in 56 games between the Flyers and Ducks this year. He'll likely fill a bottom-six role in the playoffs, as well as picking up some penalty-killing duties.
