  • Flames' Freddie Hamilton: Moves to waiver wire
    By RotoWire Staff

Hamilton was waived by the Flames on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. Frankly, we're surprised it took Calgary this long to designate Hamilton for waivers -- he's only played in two of 10 games this season, including none in the past four. In the likely event that he clears waivers, expect Hamilton to be assigned to AHL Stockton.

  • Flames' Freddie Hamilton: Returns to press box
    By RotoWire Staff

Hamilton was a healthy scratch for Thursday's 2-1 loss to Carolina. Hamilton has only suited up for one game this season, and while he registered an assist in the contest, he found himself right back in the press box Thursday. The 25-year-old forward projects to remain off the fantasy radar in most settings.

  • Flames' Freddie Hamilton: Failed to take next step
    By RotoWire Staff

Hamilton recorded just two points in 26 NHL contests in 2016-17. The 25-year-old was given the most substantial opportunity of his professional career last season, but just wasn't able to take the next step as evidenced by his near non-existent offensive output. Hamilton was quite serviceable in 2015-16 with AHL Stockton (43 points in 62 games), so perhaps the Flames will shuttle him to the minors for further seasoning next fall.

  • Hamilton has been a healthy scratch for the last three games. Dating back even further, the depth forward has watched 21 of the team's last 26 games from the press box, and only has a single point across the 21 contests he's played in. Needless to say, he is one player to steer clear of for fantasy purposes.

  • Hamilton has played in 18 games this season, scoring a lone goal along the way. The 25-year-old winger was great last year in the AHL, racking up 43 points in 62 games, but that success hasn't at all translated to the NHL level. Hamilton has been with the Flames all year but has only gotten into 18 games, so his development at this point is pretty much in limbo since he's spending most of his time in the press box -- rather than on the ice in Calgary or AHL Stockton.
