  • Oilers' Keegan Lowe: Placed on waivers
    By RotoWire Staff

The Oilers placed Lowe on waivers for the purpose of reassignment Saturday. The 2011 third-round pick hasn't appeared in an NHL game since the 2014-15 season, and he'll likely spend the entirety of the 2017-18 campaign in the minors.

  • Lowe signed a one-year contract with the Oilers on Saturday. He has no NHL experience and projects to be more of a stay-at-home defenseman, thus you can safely pass over Lowe in virtually any format.

  • Canadiens' Keegan Lowe: Traded to Montreal
    By RotoWire Staff

Lowe was traded to Montreal for defenseman Philip Samuelsson and then reassigned to AHL St. John's on Tuesday. Lowe turns 24 next month and has been a stay-at-home defenseman throughout his professional career, logging 49 points in 239 games (two of them being in the NHL). Lowe's acquisition provides Montreal with some additional organizational depth on the blueline, though it's unlikely that the player will see any time in the NHL this season.

  • The Hurricanes agreed to terms with Lowe on a one-year, two-way contract Thursday. He will make $750,000 at the NHL level, or $80,000 with AHL Charlotte, in 2016-17. Lowe appeared in 67 games with the Checkers in 2015-16, delivering three goals, 11 assists and 75 PIM. With a new two-way deal in hand, expect the former third-round draft pick to continue shuttling about the organizational ranks.
