Selleck was sent to AHL Springfield on Monday. Selleck ended the NHL season with an upper-body injury but hopes to skate in one of Springfield's three remaining regular season games after making just one appearance for Arizona during the 2015-16 campaign.
Selleck (upper body) is improving but will still miss Thursday's matchup with Nashville, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Selleck has not been ruled out for Saturday's contest, but with the Coyotes out of the playoffs, there is no reason for the team to rush him back into the lineup. The 28-year-old saw action in only one NHL contest in 2015-16. In the AHL this year, the winger garnered 22 points in 59 outings along with 137 PIM.
Selleck (upper body) joined Monday's morning skate late sporting a non-contact jersey, but isn't ready to rejoin the lineup yet, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Selleck's return date shouldn't concern many, but it's worth noting that coach Dave Tippett indicated he could return at some point during the road trip. Expect another update on the 28-year-old winger when he's fit to play.
Selleck (upper body) will not play in Saturday's game against the Capitals, Dave Vest of the Coyotes reports. Selleck was injured Thursday in the first game he appeared in with the Coyotes this season, and he will not get a chance to appear in another NHL game Saturday due to the setback. He is day-to-day, so he could be back for the team's next game Monday against the Blues.
Selleck was recalled by the Coyotes on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Selleck has seen NHL action just once in his career, dressing for the Panthers twice in 2012-13 and collecting one point. While he may get another chance with the Coyotes, it's unlikely he will receive enough ice time to become fantasy-relevant.
