  • Nugent-Hopkins registered two assists during Tuesday's 8-3 loss to St. Louis. Don't look now, but the 2011 first overall selection has recorded six goals and eight assists through his past 13 outings. Nugent-Hopkins' recent uptick in production is encouraging because the 24-year-old center is still just in the beginning stages of his offensive prime. Additionally, with opposing teams focused on slowing down Connor McDavid, Nugent-Hopkins should see some softer five-on-five matchups. A bounce-back campaign appears to already be in the works for the Burnaby, B.C. native.

  • Nugent-Hopkins scored twice in Tuesday's 8-2 victory over the Golden Knights. The 24-year-old is now up to eight goals and 14 points in 18 contests. Nugent-Hopkins has been playing very well of late and has six goals in his last 10 games dating back to late-October. The goal Tuesday came with the man advantage, as Nugent-Hopkins has now struck three times with the man advantage after only netting five power-play tallies in 82 games last season. With the Oilers' offense heating up, Nugent-Hopkins makes for a very reliable fantasy play across a variety of formats.

  • Nugent-Hopkins recorded an assist during Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. The first overall pick from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has four goals and nine points in his last eight games, so now might be a good time to scoop him up if another manager got antsy about the slow start. Nugent-Hopkins seems to be rounding into form.

  • Nugent-Hopkins recorded two assists and six shots during Thursday's 3-2 overtime win against New Jersey. The 24-year-old center now has four goals, four assists and 21 shots through his past seven games, and the uptick in production has him up to a respectable 11 points through 15 outings for the campaign. The Oilers have the potential to be a strong offensive club, and Nugent-Hopkins is just entering his prime scoring years, so he offers sneaky fantasy value and is probably undervalued in most circles.

  • Nugent-Hopkins had a goal in his side's 3-2 loss Wednesday to Pittsburgh. Nugent-Hopkins is showing signs of getting himself going after scoring three goals in his past three games. The Oilers need to find some answers after a wasted October, and getting consistent scoring from Nugent-Hopkins would be a big step in the right direction.
