  • Laughton signed a five-year, $15 million contract with the Flyers on Monday. The Flyers were thinking of trading Laughton before agreeing to this contract. Laughton is now signed through the 2025-26 campaign at a modest salary. The 26-year-old is a solid two-way forward that has produced seven goals, 10 assists and 99 hits through 38 games this season. He should remain in the bottom six for the time being.

  • Laughton scored a goal on his only shot and led the team with five hits in a 5-3 loss to the Capitals on Thursday. Laughton snuck a shot just inside the post to the glove side of Ilya Samsonov, pulling the Flyers to within 4-3 midway through the third period. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a productive run over the past week, collecting two goals and three assists across six games. Laughton has 15 points with a plus-9 rating in 21 games this season.

Laughton's consistent play has earned him a look on the Flyers' second line. It was there where he set up Kevin Hayes' second-period tally. Laughton is up to 14 points, 65 hits, 32 shots and a plus-8 rating in 20 appearances, mainly in a middle-six assignment.

  • Laughton notched two assists in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Penguins. The 26-year-old played give-and-go with Travis Konecny on a 2-on-0 early in the first period, then helped set up Shayne Gostisbehere for Philly's final tally of the afternoon midway through the second. Laughton continues to produce at a career-high pace this season, piling up six goals and 13 points through only 18 games.

Laughton's return to practice paves the way for him to suit up Saturday against the Sabres. He was off to a hot start prior to being placed in the league's COVID-19 protocols, with four goals and five assists through 13 games.
