  • McCabe recorded a goal and two assists during Friday's 5-4 overtime loss to Carolina. The 24-year-old blueliner improved to two goals and seven assists with Friday's season-high, three-point showing. McCabe is in line to reach the 20-point benchmark for the second consecutive season, but his fantasy value remains limited to cavernous settings.

  • McCabe scored his first goal of the season, added a helper, dished out four hits and blocked five shots in Tuesday's win over the Avalanche. McCabe doesn't contribute much in terms of offense, but fantasy goers couldn't have asked for a much better fantasy performance. With just six points and a minus-9 rating in 28 games, the second-pairing blueliner still isn't worth owning in most formats. By RotoWire Staff

McCabe (shoulder) told reporters he was back to 100 percent and was ready for Thursday's matchup against Montreal, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. McCabe isn't exactly an offensive powerhouse -- he had just 20 points in 76 outings last year -- but his ability to move the puck and physical style of play make him a critical piece of the Sabres' blue line. With the 23-year-old ready to suit up, Victor Antipin and Matt Tennyson may end up watching from the press box.

  • Sabres' Jake McCabe: Back at practice
    By RotoWire Staff

McCabe (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday. While the team has given no further indication as to whether McCabe will be able to suit up for Buffalo's opening game against Montreal, the defenseman's participation in morning skate serves as an excellent sign that he's at least trending in the right direction. Expect an update from the Sabres closer to Thursday's showdown.
