Kristo was traded to the Hurricanes, along with a second-round pick, in exchange for Ron Hainsey. At one point, Kristo was seen as talented forward with 20-goal per season potential in the NHL, but his star his dimmed since then. Kristo was a second-round pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, was a big part of Team USA's gold medal winning team at the 2010 World Junior Championship, and scored over a point per game over a 161 game career at the University of North Dakota. Since then, Kristo has played in the AHL level for four different franchises, tallying 153 points in 257 games. Don't expect Kristo to offer much from a fantasy standpoint if he ever receives a call to the big team.
Kristo was traded from the Blues to the Penguins on Saturday in exchange for defenseman Reid McNeill. The trade isn't likely to affect Kristo's status as a minor leaguer and he will likely report to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He's notched only two assists in eight games with AHL Chicago this season, so he's unlikely to make an impact with the big club this season.
Kristo re-signed with the Blues on Monday, to a one-year, two-way contract. Kristo had 25 goals and 23 assists in 71 appearances in 2015-16 with the Chicago Wolves.
The Blues signed Danny Kristo to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday.
Danny Kristo tallied a pair of goals in Hartford's (AHL) 5-0 win over Springfield on Friday.
