  • Golden Knights' Oscar Dansk: Designated for IR
    By RotoWire Staff

Dansk (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Dansk becomes the third Vegas netminder on injured reserve along with Marc-Andre Fleury (concussion) and Malcolm Subban (lower body). With just two remaining goalies under contract, the Golden Knights were forced to make an emergency recall of Dylan Ferguson from his junior team. Prior to getting hurt, Dansk was off to a phenomenal start, winning each of his three appearances in goal -- including a 32-save shutout over Colorado. By placing the Swede on injured reserve, he will miss at least a week, with Nov. 6 against Toronto the earliest he could return to action.

  • Dansk (undisclosed) left Monday's game against the Islanders during the second period and is not expected to return, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. This was Dansk's fourth game appearing as the starter, as Vegas continues to deal with goaltending injuries. The 23-year-old slipped and came down awkwardly while trying to make a save on John Tavares, and looked to be noticeably uncomfortable after the play. Dansk is unlikely to return and should be considered day-to-day, and more information should be released by the team before Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers.

  • Dansk led the team onto the ice and will guard the cage on the road against the Islanders on Monday. Dansk continues to get better and better to start the season, recording his first career shutout Friday against Colorado. The 23-year-old remains undefeated in his career -- albeit with just three outings under his belt -- with a 1.35 GAA and .959 save percentage. New York's offense (3.45 goals per game) is eighth best in the league, but Dansk is backed up by the third-ranked squad (3.78 tallies per outing).

  • Dansk stopped all 32 shots in a 7-0 win over Colorado on Friday. Dansk didn't need to be perfect with his team's explosion, but he was perfect anyway, earning his first career shutout in the process. Marc-Andre Fleury (concussion) will remain the top option when he returns, but Dansk is showing he can be effective when thrust into the starter's role.

  • Dansk will patrol the blue paint at home against Colorado on Friday. Dansk is undefeated in his NHL career -- all two appearances. While it is certainly impressive that the netminder has recorded wins in two straight outings, he is still a relatively untested player. If the 23-year-old does struggle, he has the benefit of playing behind an offense that is netting 3.38 goals per game -- third best in the league.
