  • Severson finished with a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Calgary, adding a shot and two blocks. Severson was the lone Devils player with a rating worse than minus-1 in the game. He's no stranger to struggles in the rating category, as Severson's minus-10 mark this season brings his career rating to minus-97 through 375 games. With just three points in 14 games, he's not doing nearly enough elsewhere to counteract his shortcomings in the category.

  • Devils' Damon Severson: Lights lamp in shootout loss
    By RotoWire Staff

Severson scored his first goal of the season in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to Edmonton. Severson's goal with 4:25 left in regulation looked like it would be the winner, but Connor McDavid answered back with just over a minute to play. While Severson skated a team-high 25:02 in this one, only 29 seconds came on the power play. That power-play total ranked a distant third among the team's defensemen behind P.K. Subban (2:57) and Sami Vatanen (1:03). If he doesn't play much with the extra man, Severson will be fighting an uphill battle to reach last year's output of 39 points.

  • Severson dished out a power-play helper in Saturday's season finale against Florida, finishing the season with 11 goals and 39 points in 82 games. Severson didn't miss a game for the first time in his career and set new personal bests in both goals and points. He also recorded 12 power-play points, one shy of his career-high mark from 2016-17. The 2012 second-rounder has good offensive instincts, but he still has a lot of work to do in his own end, as Severson's minus-27 rating dropped his career mark to minus-87.

  • Devils' Damon Severson: Does damage on power play
    By RotoWire Staff

Severson scored a goal and registered an assist, both on the power play, in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Oilers. He also went plus-3 and fired four shots on goal in the appearance. Severson has 11 goals and 26 assists in 71 games this season, and it's likely he'll top 40 points by season's end. Severson has 10 power-play points this season, and may make for a good DFS pick when the Devils visit the Canucks on Friday.

  • Devils' Damon Severson: Reaches 35 points
    By RotoWire Staff

Severson gathered a helper in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Flames. He also blocked two shots and fired two shots on goal. Severson has 10 goals and 25 assists in 70 games this year, hitting the 35-point plateau for the first time. If fantasy owners can cover his minus-20 rating, he could make for a decent depth option to round out your blue line.
