  • Lightning's Jake Dotchin: Out Wednesday
    By RotoWire Staff

Dotchin (undisclosed) will not suit up for Wednesday evening's contest against the Blackhawks. Dotchin will miss his second game of the season after posting a minus-3 rating and just 12:18 of ice time in Saturday's loss to the Islanders. Andrej Sustr is slated to draw into the lineup in Dotchin's absence, while Dan Girardi could be in line for a more expanded role on the Tampa Bay blue line.

  • Dotchin (undisclosed) is day-to-day and his status for Wednesday night's game against the Blackhawks is up in the air, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports. Tampa's hyped sophomore defenseman went minus-3 with only 12:18 of ice time in Saturday's game against the Islanders, and the Bolts haven't played since. If he's forced to miss the next game, we can see Andrej Sustr picking up more playing time, albeit in a bottom-pairing capacity.

  • Lightning's Jake Dotchin: Scores first goal
    By RotoWire Staff

Dotchin scored his first goal of the year in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Sharks. The goal was a nice surprise for the young defenseman, but hits and blocks are the only categories he will consistently fill. After also finishing the game with two hits and two blocks, Dotchin brought his season total to 19 and 16, respectively, through 15 games.

  • Dotchin hasn't played in any of the team's four preseason games after violating an unspecified team rule, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Despite not having played a preseason game, Dotchin has continued to practice throughout this period. It's unclear if the 23-year-old blueliner will dress for any of the Lightning's three remaining preseason tilts, but the team has announced that Dotchin's suspension won't affect his roster status.

  • Dotchin was demoted to AHL Syracuse on Monday. Dotchin closed out the season on a high note with four helpers in five games. Despite averaging 18:26 of ice time across 35 contests this season, the 23-year-old failed to register his first NHL goal. With the Crunch hoping to make a deep run in the Calder Cup Playoffs, the Ontario native should provide some defensive help on the blue line. Given his performance with the Lightning, look for Dotchin to compete for a spot in training camp.
