  • Hudon has been loaned to Lausanne HC of the Swiss National League. Hudon spent most of his time in the AHL last season, racking up 27 goals and eight helpers in 46 contests, but he also appeared in 15 games with the Canadiens, picking up two points over that span. He'll be recalled ahead of training camp, but don't expect him to make any waves in the NHL next season.

  • Hudon scored a goal on two shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Islanders. Hudon, who's spent most of the year at AHL Laval, pocketed his first NHL goal of the season. He was called up recently after Montreal jettisoned players at the trade deadline and could have a home on the roster, albeit on the fourth line, as injuries pile up at forward. The injured Jonathan Drouin (ankle) was joined by Tomas Tatar, who left Tuesday's game after just 2:45 of ice time with an upper-body injury.

  • Hudon had four hits over 11:42 of ice time in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers. Hudon was called up earlier in the day as a replacement for Jonathan Drouin (ankle) and skated on the fourth line. He has one assist, 14 shots and 19 hits in 10 games this season while with the parent club. It's unclear how long Drouin will be sidelined.

  • Hudon was promoted from AHL Laval on Thursday. After logging 72 games for the Habs in 2017-18, Hudon has appeared in just 41 contests over the last two seasons. In his nine outings this year, the winger has registered one helper, 14 shots and 15 hits while averaging just 9:44 of ice time. Given the team used an emergency recall, it could be dealing with an injury among the forward group, which would force Hudon into action versus the Rangers on Thursday.

  • Hudon will remain at AHL Laval after the Canadiens called up Riley Barbour over the weekend, Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette reports. Barbour will slot in on the fourth line with Nate Thompson and Matthew Peca on Tuesday against the Penguins. Hudon is Laval's leading goal scorer with nine, but his latest attempt to nail down a full-time job in the NHL ends after nine games and one point.
