Carrier scored a goal among three shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over Carolina. Carrier lit the lamp for the first time this year, helping Vegas pick up the victory. Carrier is not a great fantasy option, as he's registered only two points through 14 games this season.
Carrier has yet to record a point this season, though he does have 23 hits through five games. Any attacking-zone contributions from Carrier should be considered a bonus. Incredibly, he had 21 hits through the first two games of the conference quarterfinals against the Kings in April, but an undisclosed issue caused him to miss 10 playoff games. By the time Carrier was healthy enough to return, the Stanley Cup was already in the building for the Capitals' enjoyment. With a scant role and just 11 points in 83 career games, the Quebec native is best reserved for deep roto leagues that include hits as a category.
Carrier agreed to terms on two-year contract with Vegas on Monday. Following the departures of James Neal and David Perron, Carrier should be in line to see an expanded role next season. The winger logged 37 games for the Knights in 2017-18, but averaged a mere 8:50 of ice time. With a bigger role should come increased productivity, although the Quebec native's ceiling likely falls in the 20-30 point range.
Carrier (undisclosed) is an option for the Golden Knights' Game 5 clash with Washington on Thursday, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. While Carrier may be healthy, there is no guarantee he will slot into the lineup. If he does suit up, it will likely be at the expense of Ryan Carpenter or Ryan Reaves. Given how close to the vest coach Gerard Gallant has been playing it with his lineups, fantasy owners will probably need to wait until warmups regarding Carrier's status.
Carrier (undisclosed) continued to skate with the extras during Monday's game-day practice, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports. The fact that Carrier is able to join his teammates on the ice without restrictions is a good indication he is close; however, until he joins one of the four lines for rushes he will remain sidelined come puck drop. Even once given the green light to play, the winger may struggle to crack the lineup given the strong recent performances of Ryan Reaves and Tomas Nosek.
