Kubalik followed his own shot and deposited a rebound off the end boards with 12 seconds left in regulation, notching his seventh goal of the year. The 25-year-old has three points (two goals, one assist) over his last three games, racking up six shots on goal in two of them. Kubalik ranks second on the team with 17 points in 22 contests.

Kubalik scored an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Tuesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Blue Jackets. He led Chicago with six shots on net but also caught a minus-1 rating. Kubalik's production has been feast-or-famine lately, as he has two two-point performances and four goose eggs in the last six games, but on the season he has a strong six goals and 16 points through 20 contests.

Kubalik scored twice on four shots Monday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Red Wings. Kubalik finished off a 2-on-1 feed from Pius Suter to deliver the game-winning goal with 17 seconds left in overtime, his second tally of the night. He had also converted a Brandon Hagel dish on the doorstep late in the first period. It was a much-needed outburst from Kubalik, who had entered the night with just one goal over his previous 12 contests. After scoring 30 goals in 68 games as a rookie in 2019-20, Kubalik has followed up with just five goals and 14 points through 17 tilts.

Kubalik scored a goal and dished two assists, all on the power play, in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Hurricanes. The Blackhawks' power play went 3-for-5 in the contest and Kubalik was a big reason why. He set up Mattias Janmark and Andrew Shaw for tallies, while scoring one of his own between those two goals to produce a 3-1 lead for the Blackhawks after the first period. The three-point effort was Kubalik's second multi-point outing versus the Hurricanes this year. He's up to three goals, eight helpers, 38 shots on net and 10 PIM through 12 contests. With nine of his 11 points coming with the man advantage, Kubalik has already outpaced his power-play production from last year.

Kubalik recorded a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. Kubalik had the secondary helper on Dylan Strome's second-period tally. Through nine games, Kubalik is playing more or less as well as he did as a rookie last year, when he had 46 points in 68 games. In 2020-21, Kubalik has two goals, four helpers, 30 shots on net and a minus-1 rating. He'll continue to see a healthy amount of playing time in a top-six role and on the first power-play unit.
