Walker managed an assist, four hits and two PIM in Monday's 4-0 win over the Blackhawks. Walker was listed on the top line with Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz, as the trio combined for the Blues' third goal of the game. Walker has a goal, an assist, four shots on goal and five hits in three games since a recall from AHL San Antonio.
Walker scored a goal on three shots in a 5-2 win over the Penguins on Saturday. The 25-year-old was playing in just his second game since being called up from AHL San Antonio last Sunday. His goal late in the second period, a shot he batted out of mid-air, gave the Blues a 2-1 lead. Walker will get a chance to contribute while St. Louis works through some injury issues up front.
Walker was recalled from AHL San Antonio on Sunday. Walker has lit up AHL competition this season with 12 goals and 22 points in 19 contests. The 5-foot-8 forward could make his team debut during this call-up as the Blues are dealing with a handful of injuries in the forward department.
Walker agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract with St. Louis on Monday worth $1.4 million, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports. Walker will need a strong showing in camp to break into the 23-man roster for Opening Night and is more likely to start the season in the minors. With AHL Hershey last year, the 25-year-old tallied 17 goals, 22 assists and 54 PIM in 58 appearances should earn a call-up or two during the upcoming 2019-20 campaign.
Walker was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Sunday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Postt reports. The move is presumably to make Walker available for AHL action before the Capitals begin their playoff run Thursday. The Australian winger could be back in the big leagues in fairly short order, as the roster limit and salary cap are irrelevant during the postseason.
