  • Carpenter produced an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Flames. Carpenter forced a turnover and got the puck to Brandon Hagel, who scored the Blackhawks' first goal. The 30-year-old Carpenter has been a steady presence in the bottom six this year, but it hasn't led to much offense. The forward has just two helpers to go with 51 hits and 19 shots on net through 16 appearances.

  • Carpenter produced a power-play assist, four hits and two shots on goal in Monday's win over Ottawa. Carpenter set up Patrick Kane's tally at 2:09 of the second period. The assist was Carpenter's first point in seven outings this season. The 30-year-old forward typically doesn't make much of an impact on offense -- his career high in points is 18 from 68 games with the Golden Knights in 2018-19. He's added 10 shots on net, 24 hits and a minus-3 rating this year.

  • Carpenter cleared COVID-19 protocols and was on the ice at morning skate Sunday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports. As such, he's available for Sunday's game against Detroit. It's unclear whether Carpenter will dress or be held out as a healthy scratch, but at least he's good to go after entering the league's protocols Saturday. Carpenter has been held scoreless through two games this season while averaging 10:38 of ice time.

  • Carpenter entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Saturday, Carter Baum of the Blackhawks' official site reports. At this point it's probably safe to assume Carpenter will miss Sunday's game versus the Red Wings at a minimum. The 30-year-old forward has gone scoreless through two games this campaign.

  • Carpenter (concussion) centered the Blackhawks' fourth line during Thursday's practice, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports. Carpenter missed the final eight games of the 2020-21 season with a concussion, but he's had plenty of time to recover ahead of this season's training camp. The 30-year-old vet notched five points and 78 hits in 40 games last campaign.
