  • Bardreau was sent down to AHL Bridgeport following Saturday's win over the Panthers. With Andrew Ladd (knee) and Leo Komarov (illness) both nearing a return to action, Bardreau was a surplus to New York's needs. The 26-year-old will now return to the Islanders' minor-league affiliate, where Bardreau has failed to find the scoresheet in four appearances this season.

  • Bardreau scored his first career NHL goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Senators. His second-period tally not only ended up being the game-winner, it came on a penalty shot after he stole the puck in the neutral zone and was dragged down by Mark Borowiecki to prevent a clean breakaway. Bardreau now has two points in seven games since being called up, and the 26-year-old rookie may be doing enough to stick around in a bottom-six role even after the Islanders' forward ranks get healthier.

  • Bardreau was recalled from AHL Bridgeport and will make his NHL debut in Columbus on Saturday, Shannon Hogan of MSG Networks reports. Bardreau, in four contests with AHL Bridgeport, failed to record a point but will still report to the Islanders following the team's decision to place Jordan Eberle (lower body) on injured reserve. Bardreau will replace Leo Komarov in New York's lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, so the 26-year-old has a chance to record his first point of 2019-20 right away.

  • Bardreau has signed a two-year contract with the Islanders, according to TSN's NHL Transactions page. Bardreau is unlikely to see any time at the NHL level. The Cornell product has topped out at 30 points at the AHL level, reaching that threshold twice in five seasons with AHL Lehigh Valley.

  • Bardreau was waived by the Flyers on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. The Cornell University product last played for AHL Lehigh Valley in 2017-18, accumulating 11 goals, 19 assists and 59 PIM over 45 regular-season games. Bardreau fell flat in the Calder Cup playoffs, though, as three helpers represented his point total over 13 contests.
