Blidh was left off the team's final Phase 4 roster, Conor Ryan of MassLive.com reports. The 25-year-old was considered a longshot to make the team, as he's played 28 NHL games across the last four seasons, accumulating just two points across 9:41 of average ice time. Along with Blidh, Paul Carey was also left off the roster.
Blidh had one shot and three hits in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Golden Knights. An offseason shoulder surgery kept Blidh on the shelf until Jan. 2, when he first played with AHL Providence on a conditioning assignment. Blidh recorded two goals in four games with Providence before being summoned back to the NHL on Jan. 13. It's unlikely he spends much time at the NHL level this season, and if he does he won't provide enough value to be considered in most fantasy leagues.
Blidh (shoulder) was recalled from his conditioning stint with AHL Providence on Monday. Blidh underwent shoulder surgery in September and started the season on non-roster injured reserve. He played two games on his conditioning stint, recording two goals and 14 PIM. Although he's back with the big club for now, it wouldn't be surprising if he's reassigned to the minors soon.
The Bruins sent Blidh (shoulder) to AHL Providence on a conditioning assignment Thursday, freelance hockey writer Mark Divver reports. Blidh has yet to play this season after undergoing shoulder surgery in late September, so he'll likely remain with Providence for the full two weeks the NHL allows for conditioning loans. The 24-year-old Swede has only appeared in three NHL contests over the past three campaigns, so he'll be nothing more than a rotational player for the big club once healthy.
Blidh is expected to be sidelined for four months after undergoing successful surgery to repair a ligament in his right shoulder Monday. This is an unfortunate development for Blidh, but he's only appeared in two NHL contests over the past two campaigns, so it won't have much impact on the Bruins or fantasy owners. Once healthy, he'll join AHL Providence.
