Rangers' Jonny Brodzinski: Scratched last two games

Brodzinski watched fan favorite Matt Rempe play each of the Rangers' last two games as the team clinched the Presidents' Trophy, and those two players will likely rotate between the fourth line and press box throughout the playoffs. Brodzinski blew past his previous career highs of 35 appearances and six points, which the 30-year-old forward set with the Kings back in 2017-18, during the 2023-24 regular season.

The second-period tally ended up being the game-winner, and it snapped a 13-game goal drought for the 30-year-old winger. Brodzinski is having his most productive NHL season yet, but that's not saying much -- he has 16 points through 47 games, with both of those numbers being career highs.
Brodzinski signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract extension Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Brodzinski has four goals, 15 points and 62 shots in 37 contests this season. The 30-year-old usually serves as a bottom-six forward while seeing some time on the second power-play unit. Brodzinski's likely to maintain that role through the life of his new deal.
