Per Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic, Parayko is sitting out of Monday's game versus the Kings because of a back injury. Parayko played through the back injury for a few weeks, but it was clear that he wasn't playing up to his standard during that stretch. In turn, the Blues will hold him out for a third straight game, and the 27-year-old isn't expected to return to the lineup this week. Furthermore, it's uncertain if extended rest will fix Parayko's injury. Surgery has been mentioned, although that's still just an idea at this point. Parayko is a key two-way defenseman for the Blues, but his absence mostly affects the team's defensive system, as the 6-foot-6 blueliner covers a ton of ice.

Parayko (undisclosed) won't play in Monday's game versus the Kings, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. It's still unclear what's keeping Parayko out of the lineup. As the Blues' best two-way defender, this is certainly a big hit to the blue line. Torey Krug and Justin Faulk should both lead the team in minutes until Parayko returns to action.

Parayko (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's game against the Sharks, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Parayko is set to miss a second straight game. Both Torey Krug and Justin Faulk logged season highs in ice time with Parayko out Thursday, so they're slated to take on similar roles Saturday. Parayko will aim to return for Monday's home matchup versus the Kings.

Parayko distributed two assists and added five blocks and three shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over Arizona. Parayko assisted on Mike Hoffman's first-period goal that got St. Louis on the board, as well as Ryan O'Reilly's game-winner early in the third. He also led all players with his five blocks. Parayko now has points in each of his last three games (one goal, three assists).

Parayko scored a goal on three shots and added four hits in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Ducks. Parayko's tally 2:17 into the third period was the last of the game, as he gave the Blues extra insurance. It was the blueliner's first goal of the season -- he's added four assists, 16 hits, 15 blocked shots and 18 shots on net through nine outings.
