  • Hurricanes' Lucas Wallmark: Tallies in overtime loss
    By RotoWire Staff

Wallmark scored his first career postseason goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals in Game 2 of their first-round series. The fourth-liner has assembled a three-game point streak with a goal and three helpers, dating back to the end of the regular season. He had a small breakout with 28 points in 81 regular-season appearances this year. Wallmark doesn't have much fantasy appeal, especially with the Hurricanes likely to lean on their stars more being down 2-0 in the series.

  • Hurricanes' Lucas Wallmark: Svech's little helper
    By RotoWire Staff

Wallmark tallied two assists Thursday, but Washington defeated the Hurricanes 4-2 in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. Both assists came on Andrei Svechnikov goals. Unfortunately, Carolina could not find an equalizing goal after getting to within one and actually conceded late to erase any thoughts of a comeback. For Wallmark, the two-point performance is out of character, as the bottom-six forward only managed 28 points in 81 regular-season games.

  • Wallmark scored his ninth goal and 26th point of the season in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sabres. Even though he's been bumped down to a checking-line role ever since Jordan Staal returned from the IR at the end of February, Wallmark continues to see a decent amount of ice time, averaging 14:42 per game since Staal's return. However, he's now centering the Canes' third line alongside Micheal Ferland and Jordan Martinook, so his opportunities to contribute offensively will be limited going forward. His fantasy value remains confined to deeper formats only.

  • Hurricanes' Lucas Wallmark: Picks up assist
    By RotoWire Staff

Wallmark provided a helper in a 5-3 win over the Predators on Saturday. Wallmark also recorded two hits and two PIM in the victory. In his first full season, Wallmark has generated 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 67 appearances. He's also seen a modest 1:28 per game on the power play this season, where he has seven of his points, but he sees most of his time on the third line of a Hurricanes offense that scores three goals per game.

  • Wallmark had a power-play assist in 15:14 of ice time in Tuesday's win over the Kings. The assist was his 15th of the season, and Wallmark has now produced a point in back-to-back games. Since the calendar turned to February, the 23-year-old has produced six points and seven blocks in 13 games. The fact that he's averaged 1:28 of power-play time per game this campaign will only add to his fantasy value.
