The Coyotes released McIntyre from his professional tryout offer Wednesday, TSN reports. The Coyotes already have Adin Hill locked in as their No. 3 netminder, so McIntyre was always going to have a hard time securing a contract during camp. The 28-year-old American will hope to land a two-way deal with another organization. If he's unable to do so, McIntyre may have to head overseas to continue his playing career.

McIntyre will attend the Coyotes' training camp on a professional tryout offer, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports. McIntyre spent the majority of the 2019-20 campaign with AHL Utica, compiling an 11-10-3 record while posting a 3.16 GAA and .894 save percentage in 24 appearances. If he ends up getting a contract offer from the Coyotes, it will almost certainly be a two-way deal.

McIntyre was brought in via trade by New Jersey from Vancouver in a swap for Louis Domingue on Monday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports. McIntyre will close out the year with AHL Binghamton before hitting free agency July 1. The netminder hasn't played in an NHL game since 2016-17 when he was with the Bruins and saw action in eight games. In those appearances, the Minnesota native went 0-4-1 with a 3.96 GAA and .858 save percentage.

The Canucks recalled McIntyre from AHL Utica on Monday. With Jacob Markstrom taking a leave of absence, the Canucks brought up McIntyre to serve with Thatcher Demko as the team's two goaltenders. Markstrom is expected to return at some point during the team's upcoming four-game road trip, which starts Thursday in St. Louis. It's unsettled who will start in net Tuesday against the Red Wings.

McIntyre signed a one-year, two-way contract with Vancouver on Monday. McIntyre is unlikely to get more than a cup of coffee in the NHL this season, as the Canucks are already set with Jacob Markstrom and Thatcher Demko between the pipes. Another year in the minors will help the 26-year-old further his development and put his skills on display in the hopes of earning a better opportunity in 2020-21.

Nothing like a booth review and a timeout to give Zane Gonzalez 45 minutes to think about this field goal before he kicks it.
