Wood scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins. Wood has scored five times in his last 10 games. The 25-year-old winger is expected to see a larger role as the Devils continue to overhaul their roster with youth in mind at the trade deadline. The fifth-year winger has 19 points, 97 shots on net and 27 PIM through 40 appearances this season.

Wood scored two goals in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Penguins. He was credited with the Devils' first and last tallies of the night, although the second had little to do with him as a Brian Dumoulin clearing attempt hit Casey DeSmith in the back of the leg and caromed into the Pittsburgh net. Wood hadn't had a multi-point performance since Jan. 31, and on the season the 25-year-old has 13 goals and 18 points through 39 games.

Wood failed to register any significant statistics besides two PIM in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres. Wood failed to replicate his success from Tuesday's clash between the two bottom teams in the East Division standings, when he piled up six shots and an assist. The power forward hasn't put forth a multi-point effort since Jan. 31, but he still leads the team with 11 goals in 38 games. Pavel Zacha's hot on Wood's heels in that category, as Zacha's three goals in the last two games have made him the second Devil to reach double digits this season.

Wood scored his ninth goal of the season on five shots while adding two blocked shots and a minus-1 rating in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sabres. With the score tied 2-2 early in the third period, Wood ripped home a power-play tally that proved to be the winning goal. The 25-year-old had only one point, a goal, in his prior seven games, and on the season he has a modest 13 points through 26 games.

Wood scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres. Wood has a team-high six goals through 15 games, having rediscovered the scoring touch that helped him light the lamp 19 times in 2017-18. The power forward totaled just 21 goals in the two subsequent seasons, but Wood's enticing combination of size and speed, in addition to his net-front role on the Devils' top power-play unit, have made him a go-to scoring option this year for a surprisingly competitive New Jersey team.
