  • Brown racked up four assists in AHL Belleville's 5-3 win over Manitoba on Monday. Brown has now posted 11 points in eight games since being returned to the minors in late December. It's surprising Ottawa hasn't given Brown a regular spot in their lineup given how well he has played for Belleville combined with the fact the Sens aren't competing for a playoff spot. Brown should be recalled at some point later in the season.

  • The Senators reassigned Brown to AHL Belleville on Saturday, Brent Wallace of TSN.ca reports. Brown suited up in the last 11 games for the Senators, recording two assists and 11 shots on net while averaging 10:16 of ice time per contest. The 21-year-old will have more opportunities in the minors, as he should slot into the top six with power-play responsibilities.

  • Brown is a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Flames, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Coach D.J. Smith said he's holding Brown out since the team is playing back-to-back games, so it sounds like he's attempting to help the 21-year-old adjust to the NHL game. Brown has six points -- three on the power play -- through 12 games, and Jean-Christophe Beaudin will enter the lineup to add depth up the middle.

  • Brown scored the game-winning goal on the power play while adding two shots and two PIM in Friday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. Brown snuck in from the left point and wired a shot off the post and in, registering his first goal in 15 NHL games. The 2016 first-round pick has had an injury-riddled 2019-20 season, but more plays like the one he delivered Friday could help the 6-foot-6, 21-year-old secure a regular bottom-six role.

  • Brown (upper body) was removed from injured reserve ahead of Friday's matchup with the Flyers. Brown should be in the mix for a spot in the lineup versus Philadelphia now that he's been taken off IR. Prior to getting hurt, the center had registered two assists and four shots in his last four games. If Brown gets into the lineup, Mikkel Boedker or Filip Chlapik will likely be relegated to the press box.
