The Rangers assigned Hajek to AHL Hartford on Tuesday. Hajek was recently sidelined for over a month due to a knee injury, so he'll head to the minors to get back into game shape. The 21-year-old blueliner, who's picked up five assists while posting a minus-4 rating in 28 games with the Rangers this campaign, will likely be back with the big club sooner rather than later.
Hajek (knee) returned from injury Saturday and was minus-2 with one shot and two blocks in a 5-2 loss to the Blues. It was the first game since Dec. 5 for Hajek and he logged just over 15 minutes of playing time, all at even strength. The 21-year-old rearguard has five assists and a minus-4 rating through 28 games this season.
Hajek (knee) is in the lineup Saturday versus the Blues. The 21-year-old Hajek has been out since Dec. 5 but will make his return in St. Louis. The young defenseman has picked up five assists in 27 games, but Hajek remains without a goal in 2019-20.
Hajek (knee) will not be available versus the Devils on Thursday but is nearing a return to the lineup, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports. Coach Dan Quinn told reporters the team would discuss the next steps for Hajek following Thursday's tilt. The 21-year-old averaged just 16:01 of ice time in 27 games prior to getting hurt and could be a candidate for the minors in order to ease him back into game action.
Hajek (knee) isn't on the ice for warmups and won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado, Brett Cyrgalis of the New York Post reports. Hajek donned a full-contact sweater ahead of Saturday's game, so he's return to the lineup remains imminent. He won't play Tuesday, however, as he's absence will extend into the four-week mark. Hajek's next chance to suit up is Thursday's game against the Devils.
