  • Motte scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Senators. Motte struck at 2:38 of the second period, and the Canucks held the lead the rest of the way. The 26-year-old has a modest three points in nine games this year, but he's added 19 hits, 16 shots on net and a minus-1 rating. The Michigan native is likely to stay in a bottom-six role, which will limit his fantasy appeal on a struggling Canucks team.

  • Motte scored a goal on four shots and added two hits in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. Motte scored at 18:42 of the second period to tie the game at 2-2, but that was it for the Canucks' offense. The 26-year-old has picked up two points in six games since coming off of injured reserve after recovering from neck surgery. He's added 15 hits, four PIM and 10 shots on net as a tough presence in the bottom six.

  • Motte recorded an assist, two hits, a pair of blocked shots and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche. Motte set up Tucker Poolman for a go-ahead goal at 1:30 of the third period, though the Canucks' lead lasted for just 49 seconds. The assist was Motte's first point in two games since returning from offseason neck surgery. The Michigan native occasionally saw top-six usage last year, but he'll likely remain in a fourth-line role in the near term as he gets back up to NHL speed. Outside of hits -- he had 100 in 24 contests last year -- Motte doesn't add much of anything to interest fantasy managers.

  • Motte (neck) will make his season debut Sunday in Anaheim, Ben Kuzma of The Vancouver Province reports. Motte was activated from injured reserve in order to play Sunday after undergoing neck surgery this offseason. The 26-year-old averaged 16:01 of ice time with nine points and 100 hits in 24 games last season.

  • Motte (neck) will travel with the Canucks on their upcoming three-game road trip, Thomas Drance of The Athletic Vancouver reports. Motte underwent offseason neck surgery, but his presence on the road trip suggests he's getting closer to a return. The 26-year-old is not guaranteed to be activated from injured reserve within the next week, but he may be on the trip to get practice time with the team.
