Stecher tied the game at two with his tally at 11:30 of the second period, but the Stars would take over after that. Stecher now has five points, 18 PIM and 25 hits through 20 contests as a more defensive player on the Canucks' third pairing.

  • Canucks' Troy Stecher: Produces assist
    By RotoWire Staff

Stecher collected an assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Jets. Stecher has just two assists in his last 12 games, so the 25-year-old isn't exactly a common presence on the scoresheet. The defenseman has four points, 24 shots and 21 hits in 17 outings overall in 2019-20 while working mostly on the third pairing. Entering Friday, he was averaging 13:53 per game, down from 19:55 per contest in 2018-19.

  • Canucks' Troy Stecher: Scores first goal of season
    By RotoWire Staff

Stecher scored a goal on two shots and racked up 12 PIM with two hits and a blocked shot in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Detroit. Stecher jumped into a rush late in the second period and buried a wrist shot past Detroit goalie Jonathan Bernier to tie the game 1-1. It was the first goal of the season for the 25-year-old, who had entered the night with one assist in his first four games. Stecher hasn't scored more than 24 points in any of his first three NHL seasons and his ice time comes almost exclusively at even strength, so there isn't much offensive upside.

  • Canucks' Troy Stecher: Registers first point
    By RotoWire Staff

Stecher collected his first point of the campaign during Wednesday's win over the Kings. Stecher has been dressing on the third pairing, and seeing a career-low 12:34 of average ice time per game -- compared to his career-average 19:30. It's encouraging to see his name on the scoresheet, but the lack of ice time, and being removed from the power play severely hinders his value for the time being.

  • Canucks' Troy Stecher: Playing in World Championship
    By RotoWire Staff

Stecher will represent Team Canada at the World Championship, Rick Dhaliwal of Sportsnet 650 reports. The 25-year-old had a solid bounce-back campaign, generating 23 points after posting a mere 11 points the season prior. Stecher will head to the World Championship for the first time, and he'll look to continue building on his successful year.
