  • Blueger scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers. The Penguins' fourth line showed some speed, as Brandon Tanev and Zach Aston-Reese combined for a shot on the rush. The rebound came out to the trailing Blueger, who cashed in to put the Penguins ahead 3-1. The goal is Blueger's first NHL playoff point. He had nine goals and 22 points in 69 games during the regular season, the Latvian's first full campaign.

  • Blueger scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over Toronto, bringing his point streak to three games. Blueger's offensive game has exploded of late, as he's racked up two goals and three helpers in his previous seven contests. The Latvian continues to hold down a third-line center role but could be dropped down once Nick Bjugstad (groin) is cleared to play.

  • Blueger notched an assist in Sunday's 4-3 victory over Washington. Blueger continues to provide solid depth scoring for the Penguins, as he's racked up seven points in his last 12 outings while averaging 17:11 of ice time. The Latvian is getting a look at the third-line center role but remains locked into a line with Zach Aston-Reese and Brandon Tanev. The eventual return of Nick Bjugstad (abdomen) likely won't be enough to convince coach Mike Sullivan to break up one of his most consistent defensive lines.

  • Blueger scored a goal on four shots and was plus-2 with two PIM in a 4-3 win over Boston on Sunday. Blueger was on the receiving end of a no-look centering pass from Sidney Crosby and he made it count, drawing Pittsburgh to within 3-2 in the final minute of the second period. A mainstay in the Penguins' bottom six and on the penalty kill, Blueger has produced seven goals and 17 points in 49 games as a sophomore.

  • Blueger tallied a goal and served up an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche. Blueger got the Penguins on the board at 13:29 of the second period. He then set up Jared McCann's overtime tally to lock up the win. Blueger added five shots on goal and three hits in the contest. With five points in his last four games, the Latvian is beginning to heat up. He's at 16 points, 63 shots and 63 hits in 44 outings this season.
