  • Texier was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Tuesday. Texier will link up with the Monsters and try to help the club climb out of a 3-0 series deficit, starting with Tuesday's Game 4 clash against AHL Toronto. The center saw action in eight Stanley Cup contests with the Jackets, in which he tallied two goals, one assist and eight shots, while averaging 11:25 of ice time. With Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel all poised to hit free agency this summer, the 19-year-old Texier should have a good shot at earning a spot on the 23-man roster for Opening Night in October.

  • Texier scored two goals -- one on the power play and one into an empty net -- in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Lightning in Game 4 of their first-round series. The rookie opened the scoring just 2:26 into the game, firing the puck past a screened Andrei Vasilevskiy, to set the tone for the Jackets as they shockingly swept the Presidents' Trophy winners. Texier also picked up a power-play assist in Game 3 for his only scoring of the first round, and the 19-year-old will look to continue supplying a spark for Columbus when they face either Boston or Toronto in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Texier scored a goal in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Senators. Incredibly enough, it's the first point by a Blue Jackets rookie all season. Texier didn't look out of place in his first two NHL games, and coach John Tortorella intimated after Saturday's contest that there would be room for the 19-year-old on Columbus' playoff roster, according to Alison Lukan of The Athletic. If the team is going to pull off a stunning first-round upset against the Lightning, Texier could be just the spark they need.

  • Texier generated two hits and three empty shots on goal in his NHL debut Friday -- en route to a 3-2 shootout win over the Rangers. Texier saw 11:49 of ice time, and while the Frenchman missed the scoresheet, Columbus' second-round (45th overall) pick from 2017 can take pride in the fact that he participated in a key contest that resulted in the Jackets clinching a playoff berth.

Texier was called up from AHL Cleveland on Thursday. Born in France, Texier has produced five goals and two assists to complement a plus-6 rating through seven games for the AHL's Monsters. The Blue Jackets still have favorable odds of clinching a playoff spot, and the addition of Texier could give them a boost in that area with two games to go.
