Miletic was designated for injured reserve Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. Miletic was likely a long shot to make the Opening Night roster given the Penguins' current depth. The 23-year-old winger might still be an option for the taxi squad once back to 100 percent, though some time in the minors could be better for his long-term development.

Miletic was left off the team's final 31-man roster for the playoffs, Seth Rorabaugh of TribLive.com reports. This news isn't quite surprising, considering the 23-year-old has yet to see an NHL action in his career. Along with Miletic, the team cut Sam Poulin and goaltender Alex D'Orio.
