  • Olofsson signed a two-year, $6.1 million contract extension with the Sabres on Thursday. Olofsson had a fantastic rookie campaign in 2019-20, racking up 22 goals and 42 points while firing 127 shots on net in 54 games. The 25-year-old winger should only continue to improve during his sophomore season, making him a highly attractive option in all fantasy formats. Olofsson will continue to skate in a top-six role while also receiving major minutes on one of Buffalo's power-play units in 2020-21.

  • Olofsson has 42 points in 54 games played so far this season. A lower-body injury has limited Olofsson to 54 contests, but he has still produced 42 points. That would put him on pace for 64 points in a full season. He has found success on the man advantage, which is where he's produced 11 of his 20 goals. He has been one of the brighter spots on a struggling Sabres club.

  • Olofsson scored a goal on three shots Monday in a 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals. Olofsson ripped a one-timer from the right faceoff circle just under five minutes into the game to stake Buffalo to a 1-0 lead. It was the 20th goal of the season for the rookie, who hadn't found the net in his previous eight games. A seventh-round pick by Buffalo in 2014, Olofsson has provided 42 points in 54 games in 2019-20 and owns a 15.7 shooting percentage.

  • Olofsson (leg) had two shots and was minus-1 in a 3-1 loss to the Jets on Tuesday. Olofsson was felled by a leg injury Saturday against Arizona but ended up not missing any games. He wasn't a factor, however, in Tuesday's matchup with the Jets, going without a point for the sixth consecutive game. The 24-year-old has had a fine rookie season overall, producing 19 goals and 40 points in 51 games.

  • Olofsson (leg) will play in Tuesday's game versus the Jets, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Olofsson suffered an ugly right leg injury in Saturday's game against the Coyotes, but it wasn't too serious, as he returned to practice Monday and will flank Jack Eichel on the top line Tuesday. The 24-year-old rookie ranks third on the team in both goals (19) and points (40) through 50 games.
